What the client needed.
On November 20, 2020, RailWorks’ Maintenance of Way division reached 1,000 consecutive days without an injury — in the middle of a pandemic year, with crews spread across job sites and no room to gather everyone in. The piece had to go out company-wide and public at once: short enough to watch on a phone at a job site, dignified enough to carry the corporate brand, and human enough that the crews saw themselves in it rather than a compliance poster.
How the work got made.
Built the film around a milestone crest — 1,000 Days, Injury-Free, Maintenance of Way — that assembles piece by piece as the film runs, so the number is earned on screen the way it was earned in the field. Kinetic congratulations type opens the piece. The middle is field photography of the actual work: ballast, a night thermite weld, the rail grinder, the morning safety briefing, a crew stretching before the shift, each frame carrying the RailWorks mark. The crest locks up last, dated, over the brand. Sixty seconds, cut to read with the sound off.
What shipped, what changed.
Delivered November 2020 and published on RailWorks’ corporate channel. Six years on, it still plays as the hero of the Industries page at railworks.com — a milestone film that outlived the milestone.
