For 35 years I’ve done one thing in a hundred different ways: find out what a business is actually about, then tell that story in pictures, code, and print — so you never have to be the tech-support agent for your own brand.
Roger Ridpath — Kansas City
One eye, many instruments.
The same person who finds your story photographs it, designs it, and builds it — no hand-offs, no telephone game. This page is the short version of 35 years of that.
Roger Ridpath is a Kansas City-based photographer and creative director with 35 years of professional experience. ArtsKC Featured Artist. Published author. Founder of Ridpath Creative Partners LLC, est. 2002.
Three of those decades have been on the web — including five years at VMLY&R, one of the largest agencies in the world — building everything from custom-coded sites to open-source and locked-down enterprise systems. Today that puts the studio among the people leading the no-code/low-code shift, not chasing it.
The studio works at the messy, interesting edge — a 1967 Hasselblad body paired with a 2006 Kodak CCD sensor, a custom-coded React site shipped the same week as a print magazine ad, a Destin vacation-rental site built alongside a Kansas City brand system. Different mediums, one set of eyes.
Right tool, right moment — always. The judgment about which tool, and when, is what 35 years builds.
2026 is year 25 of Ridpath Creative Partners. This site and this brand articulation are the clearest statement yet of how it has always worked: find the story, then tell it clearly.
The moments that shaped how the studio thinks about design, photography, and what done looks like. Five highlights below; the full timeline lives on its own page.
Before a pixel or a line of code, the work is figuring out what the business is actually about. Everything after that serves the story.
Not the newest, not the oldest, not the most expensive. The one that serves what this specific situation actually requires.
When the project demands freedom, custom-coded React + Supabase you actually own. When a managed platform serves it better, Webflow. The output is what the client gets; the method is how the studio works.
Not afraid to say “I’m not the right person for your project.” If good enough is what you need, good enough is available everywhere now.
The studio takes a limited number of engagements so each one gets the judgment it deserves. Knowing what isn’t a fit is part of the job.
Let’s fill it.
