I’m Roger Ridpath, a Kansas City event photographer with 35 years behind the camera. I cover corporate events, conferences and conventions, nonprofit galas and fundraisers, and keynotes across the Kansas City metro — from downtown to Overland Park — single-day or multi-day. The result is imagery you can hand to a board, a sponsor, or a press release the same week.

Company celebrations, town halls, product launches, holiday parties.
Multi-day programs, breakout sessions, expo floors, parallel tracks.
Galas, auctions, donor receptions, award nights, evening venues.
Speakers on stage, panels, fireside chats, headline moments.
Brand moments, hospitality suites, booth and partner coverage.
A headshot station running alongside your event — team-ready files.

From a cellist on a Kansas City stage to a presidential candidate working the room — I’ve covered the moments that matter for 35 years.

Most event work is client-owned — board decks, internal galleries, programs that involve minors — and can’t be posted publicly. What appears here is shared with permission. Ask, and I’ll walk you through what’s cleared for your industry.
We align on the run-of-show, the must-get moments, and the brand priorities before the doors open.
Unobtrusive coverage of stage, sessions, candids, and details — single-day, full-day, or multi-day with parallel-track support.
A same-week edited gallery, with next-day highlight selects on request for press and social.
Clear ranges so you can budget before we ever talk. Multi-day programs and travel are quoted per event.

In Kansas City, half-day event coverage runs $1,500–$2,500 and full-day coverage $3,000–$5,000, including a delivered, edited gallery. Multi-day conferences and travel are quoted per program.
Yes. I shoot single-day, full-day, and multi-day programs, and bring additional photographers when sessions run in parallel tracks so nothing gets missed.
For a single-track day, one photographer is usually enough. For 300+ attendees or concurrent sessions, a second shooter ensures the keynote, breakouts, and candids are all covered. I’ll recommend a setup once I see your run-of-show.
The full edited gallery arrives the same week. Need images for press or social before the event ends? Next-day — or same-day — highlight selects are available on request.
Earlier is better for peak windows, but I regularly accommodate short notice. If your date is close, call — I’ll tell you straight whether I can cover it.
Yes. Galas, award dinners, and dim ballrooms are routine — I’m equipped and experienced for low light, so the room looks the way it felt.
Three decades of professional work means I read a room fast, anticipate the moment, and come back with images a board, a sponsor, and a press office can all use. ArtsKC Featured Artist. Published author. The steady hand a high-stakes event needs.
It’s real coverage of real moments — made, not generated. You get a photographer who has done this a thousand times and still cares about the frame, with the gear and backup a multi-day program demands.
